North Carolina State Museum

While we were back home this past December/January, Scott had to go on a few business trips.  Two of his trips were combined in a long week of travel, allowing Max and I to come along and keep him company (as well as meet up with Max's great-grandparents).  On the first half of the trip, we went to Raleigh,  where we made sure to visit the North Carolina State Museum of Natural Sciences (where Scott was measuring specimens) and I'm glad we did.

We've gone to enough state funded museums to know that NOT seeing a dusty display of some 100 year old animal, is a good sign.  While there still was a giant whale skeleton displayed front and center,  the museum was modern and fresh.  Instead of televisions with videos taken in the fifties, this had touch screens and interactive displays.  Plus it was huge.  I mean days of entertainment for a one year old which was exactly what we needed for the little guy.

Anyway, here's the gazillion photos that I took on our museum day and hopefully this is followed closely by a DC post.  I need to get caught up before the carnival parties start this week-end.  Moggingen is hosting the parade this year, and it is happening literally right outside our door!

▲This room was huge (I think 3 stories tall) with a projection of different slides/movies▲
▲Roland's (Scott's old boss) new work space▼
▲Both sides of the museum are connected by a bridge▼
▲This guys is always on the move (or run)▲
▲We didn't get a chance to really go through the ocean part of the museum since it was closing time▲
