After uploading the photos and really looking them over, I realized that by accident, this post became a "Max's favorite things" post. His current favorites include (in no particular order) cars, planes, balls and birds.
How did we manage to accidentally include all of his favorite things BEFORE his nap on this particular day? Let's see…
First, we got up early to head to the park where Autoworld is located before the museum actually opened. Max didn't know this, but I had packed a ball anticipating the mostly empty, open spaces and his love for throwing the ball as far as he can. It usually ends up behind him, but that doesn't stop him from trying. So once at the park, I busted the ball out and Max was in heaven.
While at the park, we ran into a ton of crows having breakfast. So what does Max do? Yell "dird! dird!" at the top of his lungs. This is usually my cue to stop whatever I'm doing to make sure that when Max begins his chase (which usually follows after the first shout) that he's reminded to watch where he's going. Unfortunately, his radar doesn't seem to include his feet and usually he ends up face down on the ground from tripping himself up.
After losing interest in the bird, we wandered toward the museum which was about to open. On the way, we heard a plane. Upon hearing the plane, Max put on quite the show (which happens every. single. time.). It included hand gestures, noise and lots of spit. I had my camera out to catch this gem of the moment so it's included in the post because the faces he makes are hilarious.
Lastly, and perhaps the best moment of the day, was when we walked into the museum and saw ALL THE CARS. Or "tractors." Because in his excitement that's all he said. "Tractor! Tractooooor!" Luckily it was just us and some guy with a suitcase walking around because Max was loud and adorable.* Oh, and the museum was pretty cool. I'm clueless when it comes to cars but I was there for Max and that's enough reason for me to go check it out. So, sorry! I can't give any details to what was what, but there's pictures!
Anyway, thus concludes the introduction to Max's favorite things. I'm sure next month it'll be different. But so far, he's kept it simple. I'm dreading the dinosaur phase, because we all know that'll happen sooner or later. I'm afraid that once that happens, this lady will be left in the dust.
*unfortunately, due to his unwavering love of cars, he has absolutely no boundaries and some sign saying "please don't touch," or a firm "no, please" is not going to stop him from wanting to get up close and personal with the vehicles. So he spent the whole time in the baby carrier. I felt bad, but I wasn't getting us kicked out and he wasn't going to scratch some trillion dollar sports car from the 70s.
