The Capitol

It's hard to believe that these pictures were taken over a month ago.  A MONTH!  Where has the time gone?  It seemed like a distant memory to me because us LaPoints don't dwell on the past, we move forward.  There's too much going on and too much to look forward to, that there's just no time.  Still, it's crazy to believe that this time last month we were basking in 70 degree heat and just chilling with the family.  Now we're literally chilling in weather that just doesn't want to go above 60.  Seriously?  Throw this girl a freaking bone.

Anyway, like I said, these pictures were taken a little over a month ago at our old stomping grounds: Albany "the Capitol Region" New York.  Where the younger Scott and Kathy (sans Max), lived, worked, partied and eventually got married.  Where every Friday night you could find us a the Bayou sipping on beer, eating Cajun food (or club sandwiches) and people watching.  Or that Mondays through Fridays, you knew that I could be found working the counter at the Pearl Street Diner while Scott was out trespassing and dodging bullets on his quest to locate that one fisher.  It is a place that I will always remember fondly for the friends that I've made and for the mostly great (if not interesting) memories that I have from living at Hamilton Street and Delaware Avenue.  Here's to you "Anger Management" and "John Mayer" for being the best kind of neighbor there is.  The not boring kind.

So rewinding back to our visit.  Scott went to go meet up with some old co-workers at the State Museum and I got to visit with my good friend Ursula and her baby girl.  We had an amazing lunch at the diner followed by a catching up/tour of the Museum while Scott finished doing his thing.  It was bittersweet to walk the hill that I used to march up every day after work even in the winter (because I was nuts!) and see people that I hadn't seen in almost 2 years.  Oh, and apparently there's a new brewery right down the road from where we used to live. WHAT THE HELL!  Where was this place two years ago?  We could have easily stumbled home from there.  Whatever, Albany.  I get it.  You've moved on.  We've moved on.  So just let it go.  Fine.  Consider it "let go."

▲I wonder how much longer Roland's display will be up.  I'm guessing another 10 years.▲
▲The children's workshop.  Very cute however the tables and chair were quite small.▼
