Flashback Friday

 {FÜSSEN}

Flashback to 2010 when Scott and I first came to Germany.  We had just gotten married and had never been to Europe before. Scott was finishing up his 2nd field season in Albany so this was kind of a test to see if we would like it enough to move here (obviously we loved it) after he was done.  We kind of treated this three month trial as a "honeymoon", and based on people's recommendations, we decided to give Füssen the honor of being our first trip outside of the Baden-Württemburg area.

One bus ride and a five hour train ride later we reached the little town at the foot of the Alps.  Füssen is home to the Cinderella Castle (Neuschwanstein) and amazing views of the mountains.  Located in Bavaria, it gave us a glimpse of a different part of Germany other than Konstanz and all the towns surrounding the Bodensee.  It was cold.  It was wet.  It was beautiful.  Maybe we'll go back or maybe we'll try our luck in another town in the Alps, but from what I can remember, this was a nice way to be introduced to Germany.

In other news, the LaPoint family will be heading back to the States in a few days!  Scott's been at Oxford for the past week (hopefully taking pictures) so that's the reason for the lack of blog posts this week.  That plus it's been rainy and I've been working my butt of trying to entertain Max from literally dawn to dusk.  I think I did an okay job because it's Friday and we survived!  So stay tuned people, hopefully there will be less snow and more sun for our "vacation" home which means lots o' picture taking.
