Vatican City

On our second day in Rome, we ventured into the Vatican City.   It was impressive in a "we destroyed civilizations and stole all this in the name of Christianity" kind of way... but hey, when in Rome.   As hard as it was to separate myself from this "modern" thinking, I did manage to check it at the door and enjoy my time at the Vatican.  It was a long day with hours of walking through castrated sculptures and bejeweled Bibles, but it all came down to one amazing conclusion.  The Sistine Chapel.  Unfortunately, we were not allowed to photograph anything while we were in the room, but lucky for everyone, I am super sneaky with the camera and managed to take a few random shots of the ceiling before fleeing for my life.
Oh, and by the way, Scott and I definitely watched Angels & Demons (in German) when we got home just so that we could point out everything we'd seen to each other.  It was a major nerd moment for both of us, but who cares when you can say that you've been there.
