Florence: Part Two

20111116

Here’s the finale to our quick two-day tour of Florence.  I’m still disappointed that we were not allowed to take pictures in the Uffizzi Gallery which houses some of my favorite Renaissance artists (Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo and Michelangelo) or in the Academy Gallery which holds not only Michelangelo’s David also some of his unfinished work.  However, since we were only allowed in the museum a handful of people at a time to keep it from being overcrowded like the Louvre in Paris, I’m assuming that by not allowing pictures it gave everyone a chance to see all the famous paintings and statues without hundreds of people standing around taking a thousand pictures of one thing.  Not that I would have minded a quick snapshot of the Birth of Venus for my desktop...
Anyway, here’s the rest of the pictures from Florence!

*Forgot to post these last two pictures with the first blog.
