Florence: Part One

20111113

Here's the beginning of a LOT of pictures.  I haven't gotten through them all, but I did manage to start on the first pictures of Florence.  Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say that I haven't gotten to the churches yet but don't worry, they'll be enough photos to satisfy anyone's thirst for a little over-the-top Christianity!

My first impression of Florence was the architecture.  The detail on some of these buildings were amazing and it's hard to imagine that they still look that good for being so old.  And the sculptures were just breathtaking.  It was hard for me to believe that only a little while ago I was studying these out of a textbook on the other side of the ocean and now I can say that I've actually seen them in real life.  The only thing that sucked, was that in many of the museums that housed these priceless pieces of art, I was not allowed to take any photos.  So while I got to see Michelangelo's David, the only way that I was going to take home a photo, was if I bought one for a ridiculous amount of money.  Dumb!

Anyway, less talk more photos!
