After a week of 90+ degrees, sweating our asses off and complaining (Scott) about the heat/everything, the week-end was kind and brought around cooler temperatures. So Sunday night, in perfect hypothermia weather (I was educated by my husband on that fact), I decided it would be a good evening to head out during twilight so I could try and get some good pictures of the lake by our apartment.
So here's how the evening went: It was nice and cool. We left the apartment. There were lots of disgusting slugs doing weird things on the path to the lake. Took pictures. Almost got poop-bombed by flying geese. Left. Realized the settings on my fancy schmancy camera were wrong. Found the geese. Harassed the geese. Didn't see a hedgehog or stone marten on the way back*, but did see the bat that lives above our room.
Thus concludes our Sunday night.
I'm not sure when the next adventure will be but I will keep updating. So stay tuned...
*Since we've had horrible luck trying to find these critters, I decided that we should conduct an experiment on our next outing. It would require Scott getting sloshed (or he could just carry around an open bottle of beer which is not as fun) to see if animals magically appear like the hedgehog did after Konstanz Oktoberfest. Hopefully we won't get the police called on us.
