Summer Days: Mud, A Parade and More

20161006

Here's the first post of pictures from our summer spent in New York.  I thought about putting all of the photos from our summer on at once, but that would've been quite a task and one that I don't really have time for.  I mean it's the final days of sun and nice weather, so we're spending as much time outside as possible.  Making new friends is our mission at the moment and trying to figure out how we're going to spend our New York winter (Blah!).

So first up, DIGGING.  They were(are) obsessed.  While we were at Scott's parents', they were nice enough to let the boys wreck a small part of the yard.  Holes were dug, Tonka trucks were filled, and buckets of water were used for making rivers and lakes.  The pail and the shovel were constantly within reach or in hand.  After it rained one night, they went out the next morning for the usual morning dig, and ended up covered in mud.  I mean it was AMAZING how disgusting they got.  And the clothes worn during this day became the designated "play clothes" because they never fully recovered.

△Scott took these photos.  I always seem to miss the cute moments.▽
△This is Zac's normal way of eating.△
△Shoving as much food as possible in his mouth.  You know, in case someone tries to take it away.△
We introduced the boys to their first American parade.  Fourth of July!  I think maybe it was a little bit of a culture shock for them at first, but they really got into it when candy was thrown, old planes flew over us, and fire trucks drove by.
△Imagine this face after almost every truck or car that passed us.△

And for the last couple photos...
△two moths getting it on…△
△seemed like a good way to end this post.△
