lisbon(part one): max meets the ocean

20130910

A couple weeks ago (already?!) we took a vacation to Lisbon, Portugal.  We have friends here in Germany that are from the Lisbon area so it was an easy decision to plan a family trip to go visit for a week and a half.  We also planned it around the time that they were going home which made the trip even that much more awesome (and another friend from Germany came so it was a party!).

Anyway, since I have a million and one photos from our stay, I'll start out with our first day on the beach as well as Max's first time seeing the ocean.  The beach according to Max was... eh... because I think it just reminded him of his sandbox.  However, the ocean.  That was more complicated.  He liked it, but he didn't trust it.  He would go in without fussing, but would rather you hold him while the waves came in.  I mean that boy would've stared at that ocean for hours if we let him.  So I guess I would say that this baby became a beach baby by the end of that first day.  He even took a nap for a bit, which is normally a struggle (with lots of tears) at home.

So here's the beginning of our holiday.  I'm pretty sure I have photos from every single day (nine days to be exact) so it'll be a smorgasbord of posts.  Which I guess is a good thing since I've been MIA lately...

Anyway, enjoy the photos!!!

▲the beach that we went to was awesome!  hardly anybody was there.  it was also a gay beach.  so lots of happy people and men.  lots of men.  which, if i think about it, might have been balanced out by the topless women.  emphasis on the might.▲
▲lets go!▲
▲gently now...▲
▲WHHHAATTT is that?!?▲
